Amazon Fire Stick is undoubtedly one of the greatest products in the market when it comes to media streaming devices. However, it is not immune to the technical glitches that make life a living hell for its users. To be fair, all digital or electronic devices suffer from the same. Freezing or hanging, turns out are one of the most common issues with the Fire Stick.
In case your device is also facing the same issue, here are some troubleshooting methods you can try.
The first thing you need to do is identifying the cause. There is a possibility that your device is fine but the remote is not sending any signals in the first place, making it look like your device isn’t responding. If you can see the screen as usual but can’t do anything, first try replacing the batteries.
It could be that the remote has drained the batteries. Also, make sure that the batteries have not leaked. If your device is still not taking command, restart your TV and try pairing your remote once again. While your remote will automatically try to pair with the TV, in case it doesn’t, manually pair by holding the home button for at least 10 seconds.
If your remote is not at the centre of the issue, try restarting your device. As we have always said, restarting your device can fix a thousand issues. Simply restart your Amazon Fire Stick and connect to the network. Just disconnect the device power cord, wait at least 30 seconds before you plug it back.
If you want to restart your device via remote, just hold the Select and Play/Pause button at the same time for five seconds. You can also go to Settings>Device>Restart to restart the device.
If you are having issues with your device make sure you are using the power supply that came with your Amazon Fire TV. Adapters have a different power supply, which is why they are made customised to every device’s requirement.
In case you are not, connect the power adapter with your Fire TV, then plug the other end into power.
If you are using the 1st and 2nd generation Amazon Fire TV, make sure you are using 1.3 and above HDMI cable for high speed. Also, strictly use the HMDI extender that came with the device for Fire TV Stick.
In case you are using an HDMI Hub, try bypassing the hub by connecting the TV directly. You can also try switching to a different HDMI port to make sure your port is not faulty or working properly.
